Installation in blue minor
Central Saint Martin’s, November 2016, London
Audiovisual installation.
Transparent plastic, white net and fabrics, 3 projections, 2 monitor screens, pre-recorded soundscape and real-time voice improvisation.
The audience is invited to experience 3 different but intertwined sound narrations from 3 different sources, while entering into a transparent installation projected on 3 sides. In their way out, people come over 2 monitor screens. The video problematizes the politics of migration as currently shaped by political authorities and the media. Issues like the “War on Terror” campaign and the military involvement of U.S. and European governments in the Middle East are being touched, correlated to the actual stories of the refugees.
Vocal improvisation aims to give a human voice to all that happens, referencing the deep origins of eastern music culture.
